ITINERARY DETAILS
DAY 1 GUWAHATI AIRPORT - SHILLONG (100 km / 3 hrs)

Welcome on arrival in Guwahati Airport and drive to Shillong. En route witness the Umiam Lake or Barapani - the biggest artificial lake in Meghalaya in midst of sylvan hills adorned by Khasi pines & peerless beauty.

If time permits, visit Cathedral of Marry and Ward's Lake. Evening free at leisure to explore the region on own. You may take a walk to the famous Police Bazaar for shopping. Overnight in Shillong.

DAY 2 DAY TRIP TO CHERRAPUNJEE (60 kms/ 2 hrs / oneway)

After breakfast drive to Cherrapunjee, the wettest place on the earth, for an awesome day trip. En route visit the famous Elephant Falls. At Sohra, stop at the Duwan Sing Syiem view point for mesmerizing views of the Hills.

In Cherrapunjee be witness to the gorgeous Seven Sisters Falls and Nohkalikai Falls. Later take a soft cave walk inside the Mawsmai Cave. The limestone cave is a natural wonder with innumerable formations inside it.

In the afternoon, visit the Arwah caves. Drive back to Shillong for overnight stay.

Note: Most of the waterfalls are dry during winter season. 

DAY 3 DAY TRIP TO MWALYNONG (100 kms/ 3 hrs / oneway)

After breakfast drive to Mwallynong, the cleanest village in Asia, also known as 'God's own Garden'. With over 80 households, the village gives the ambiance of walking in a well maintained park ! Climb the 80 ft Sky Walk at Mawlynnong village for a bird's eye view of the Village, the plantations and faraway plains of Bangladesh. You will also be acquainted to the Khasi lifestyle, their culture and economy. 

A trek to the nearby Rewai Village is another interesting activity. Walk down a flight of almost 100 steps to witness nature's wonder, living-root bridge. The bridges are tangles of massive thick roots, which the local people inter-twine to form a bridge that can hold several people at a time. The root bridges, may be up to over a hundred feet long and take ten to fifteen years to become fully functional, but they become very strong in the process. The bridges live and keep growing and strengthen over time. The useful lifespan of the bridges, is thought to be 500-600 years.

Later drive to Dawki, a village of the Jaintia community whose prime occupation of fishing. Be mesmerized by the beauty of the Umngot river, the venue of the annual boat race held during March - April at Umsyiem. The Umngot itself is a prime fishing spot for fishermen of the villages. The river is also famous for its crystal clear water, so clear that when seen from a distance, it appears as if the boat is floating in mid-air! The Umngot river is the natural boundary between Ri Pnar or Jaintia Hills with Hima Khyrim of Khasi hills over which is a single span suspension bridge was constructed. This is the gateway to Bangladesh where major export and import transactions take place. Enjoy an amazing country boat river ride. Drive up to the Bangladesh border.
Later proceed to Shillong for overnight stay.

Note: It is advisable to carry packed lunch to Mwallynong.

DAY 4 SHILLONG - KAZIRANGA (325 kms/ 7 hrs)

After breakfast drive to Kaziranga. Check in Hotel. Overnight in Kaziranga.

Kaziranga, the World Heritage Site is the oldest park in Assam & is located on the banks of the Brahmaputra River. Kaziranga National Park is a natural habitat for conservation of biologically diverse flora & fauna. It is inhabited by the world's largest population of one-horned rhinoceroses besides sheltering about 15 species of India's threatened mammals. There are numerous other major wildlife fauna.

DAY 5 KAZIRANGA

Early morning go for Elephant ride @5-30 A.M/6: 30 A.M./ 7 :30 A.M. (Subject to allotment from forest department). 

Return for Breakfast to hotel. After breakfast proceed for Jeep safari in the Central Range. With Kohora as the entry point, the Central Range covers the Daphlang and Kathpora . 

Later enjoy Local Village & Tea Garden (Outer View) tour. 

In the afternoon you may take an optional Jeep Safari (at ADDITIONAL COST) in Western Range of Kaziranga National Park. With Bagori as the entry point, the range covers the Monabeel, Bimoli, Donga areas. 

Overnight in Kaziranga.

DAY 6 KAZIRANGA - DIRANG (350 kms/ 9 hrs)
Morning after breakfast, drive to Dirang (4910 ft). Enroute visit Tippi Orchid Centre. Arunachal, the 'Orchid Paradise' is famed to have the largest variety of orchids in India. The Orchidarium at Tipi shelters 500 or more varieties of orchids which are available in various parts of Arunachal Pradesh. It is a premier Institute of excellence in orchid research and development, under the State Forest Research Institute (Department of Environment and Forests, Arunachal Pradesh). 

Check in Hotel. Evening at Leisure. Overnight at Dirang.
DAY 7 DIRANG - TAWANG (155 kms/ 6 hrs)

Morning after breakfast, drive to Tawang (10,000 ft). En route witness the unique Dirang Valley famous for its monasteries, hot Springs, Apple & kiwi Orchards, sheep breeding farms & charming valleys.

Also witness the snowcapped Sella Pass at 13700 ft, the Jaswant Garh War Memorial and Jung Falls. Overnight in Tawang. 

Jaswant Garh War Memorial : Legend has it that Jaswant (Mahavir Chakra Awardee (Posthumous) of 4th Batallion Garhwal Rifles), fought a lone battle against the invading Chinese during the 1962 war. His spirit is still believed to protect the place.

Sela Pass : @13700 ft, the Sela Pass is snow-covered (full or partial) all through the year and has breathtaking mystic views. The Pass overlooks the gorgeous Sela Lake, a heart-shaped lake chiseled between the mountains, which adds intense beauty to the location. The Lake is mostly frozen in winter. The Sela Pass connects Tawang to the rest of the country and is located 78 km before reaching Tawang.

Jung Falls : Famed as the Nuranang falls, they spell amazing beauty @6000 and is located about 40 km before reaching Tawang. The Jung Falls is listed as one of the most stunning waterfalls in India and as it travels 100 meters down the cliff, it creates a splendid view! It is believed that the falls is named after a Monpa girl named Nura who gave her life to aid an Indian soldier during the 1962 Sino-Indian War.

DAY 8 TAWANG

Tawang is the beautiful land of the Monpa tribes. 'The Land of Dawn-lit Mountains' at 3500 mts gives you unparallel purity of nature. After breakfast, visit the Tawang Monastery, Urgelling Monastery and Ani Gompa.

The Tawang Monastery, also known as the "GALDEN NAMGYEL LHATSE" is one of the largest Lamaseries of Mahayana sect in Asia and is the largest of its kind in India. The Monastery is 400 year old and is adorned with the 18 feet high statue of Lord Buddha. It stands at 10,000 feet amidst the exotic Himalayan ranges and overlooks the Tawang-Chu valley. The Urgelling Monastery is located 5 km from Tawang city, and is the birth place of the 6th Dalai Lama, born in the 17th century. The monastery was established by the Lama Urgen Sangpo in the 15th century.

Later visit the War Memorial commemorating the bravery of the Indian heroes of the Indo-China war of 1962. Witness the light & sound show in the evening. Overnight in Tawang.

DAY 9 TAWANG - BOMDILA (180 kms / 6 hrs)

Morning drive back to Bomdila. At a height of 8OOO ft., Bomdila is a small town famous for its Buddhists monasteries, magnificent valleys and Himalayan landscapes.

Evening free at leisure. Overnight in Bomdila.

DAY 10 BOMDILA - TEZPUR (190 kms / 6.5 hrs)
After breakfast drive to Tezpur. Check in Hotel. Overnight in Tezpur.
DAY 11 TEZPUR - GUWAHATI (180 kms / 4 hrs)

After breakfast drive to Guwahati. 'The light of the East' is the commercial capital of North East lying adjacent to the shores of the turbulent Brahmaputra. 

Afternoon visit Kamakhya Temple. Evening enjoy a River cruise over the river Brahmaputra (cruise charges additional). Overnight in Guwahati.

Situated on top of the Nilachal Hill, Maa Kamakhya Temple is the most sacred among the tantrik shrines of Shakti worship in the world. Kamakhya temple is also famed for the annual Ambubachi Mela held for 4 days during monsoon season. There are images of Lord Ganesha, Goddess Chamundi and many dance fixtures. Situated on the Nilachal Hill, the temple structure resembles a Shikhara - a beehive. Besides the main Devi temple, there are temples of 10 Mahavidyas in and around temple. These include Bhuvaneshvari, Bagalamukhi, Chinnamasta,Tripura Sundari, Tara, Kali, Bhairavi, Dhumavati, Matangi and Kamala Temples. Temple doors remain open for devotees in the following timings - 08:00 am to 01:00 pm & 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

DAY 12 DEPARTURE
After breakfast transfer to Guwahati Airport.

IMPORTANT GUIDELINES: 

Inner Line Permit for entry to Arunachal Pradesh :

  • To visit Arunachal Pradesh, Indian national requires Inner Line Permits.
  • Permit takes 2-3 working days. (ILP office remains closed on Saturday-Sunday)

Documents required for every traveler:

  • 2 passport size photographs of each person
  • 1 Valid Photo ID proof (Adhaar Card, Driving License, Voter ID Card, Valid Passport)
  • Pan Card is not accepted as ID proof by the authorities
  • 1 Valid Address proof

Guests with adventurous mind should travel to Arunachal Pradesh. 

SPECIAL NOTE FOR ARUNACHAL PRADESH:

  • Arunachal Pradesh is very remote place, so all hotels in this region are basic to very very basic.
  • Road conditions from Bhalukpong to Tawang are not good.
  • Room heaters may not work in Arunachal Pradesh due to voltage fluctuations.
  • In this region there are no relevance between the distance and time travelling as it depends upon the conditions of roads and congestion of traffic.
  • Mobile services may not be active in all destinations. Pre-paid roaming and International roaming connection does not work in this region. We suggest carrying BSNL (GSM) connections.
  • Credit Cards / Traveller's cheque are not freely accepted.

HEALTH ADVISORY:

  • Enroute to Tawang, there is Sela Pass at 13,700 ft. The area has low oxygen and may cause High altitude sickness, nausea, shortness of breath etc.
  • If guests have health problems like blood pressure, asthama, & heart related issue etc. kindly advise them to consult their doctors

CHINA BORDER - 
From Tawang a day visit to China Border is possible for Indian Nationals only but it is subject to permission. It can be arranged at additional cost. The rate for the trip keeps varying and we will intimate to you during the your travel time.

  • Local vehicle will have to be hired to visit China Border and per vehicle cost will range from Rs.4,500/- - Rs.5,000/-
  • The process of procuring permit to visit China border requires at least one of the guest members to visit the DC's office the previous day for certain formalities.
  • Permission is on the discretion of the officials.
  • Sometimes there may be last moment cancellation even after getting permission as the region is a high security zone.
  • DC's office remains closed on Saturday & Sunday.

IMPORTANT GUIDELINES: SAFARI IN NATIONAL PARKS / WILD LIFE SANCTUARIES

Kaziranga National Parks remain closed from 1st June  – 30th September. Mostly partial safaris operate in May and October.

Safari Guidelines

  • Safari is managed by our representative in the National Parks / Wild life Sanctuaries
  • Our representative will meet the guest in the evening at about 6:30 - 7:00 pm and provide all required information.
  • We are not responsible for cancellation of safari by the authorities
  • Sometimes, during season, the Parks may remain closed for census. This is announced only 2-3 days prior. We are not responsible for cancellation of safari in sucha a case.
  • Refunds for safari, if any, will be transferred back to the agent and will not be handed over to guest

Kindly inform the guest not to re-book safari in the hotel/ resort of their stay if they have already booked safari in the package. No refunds will be entertained for such booking.

Hotel & Room Guide

  • Room up-gradation payable at the hotel directly
  • Hotel bills will be in TAVEL AGENCY name and if the guests require bills for hotel or vehicle, we will provide the same. Please inform guest that direct hotel bills will not be available.
  • Please be reminded that all special requests like early check-in, smoking, nonsmoking, views, floors, king, twin, adjoining and/or interconnecting rooms are strictly subject to availability upon arrival and can not be guaranteed prior.
  • All hotels do not have lift facility & the guest may have to climb stairs. Incase of guests having problems with blood pressure, breathing, knee & heart or if they cannot climb the higher floors, we will request you to report this problem at the time of booking so that we may take appropriate action. This is again subject to availability.
  • Lift, Tea/coffee maker/ mini fridge / toilettery kit (with moisturizer, tooth paste, brush etc.) etc. may be given in most hotels. But they are NOT mandatory part of 3/4/5 Star hotels. If guests have specific requirements, kindly inform us and we will select properties accordingly. These items and facilities differ from hotel to hotel.
  • Facilities like western toilet, television in room, geyser in bathrooms may not be available at all places. For specific requirement, please inform us and we will try to provide. This is again subject to availability.
  • For CP, MAP and AP meal plan, menu will be on fixed plan basis and not on A-la-Carta basis. MAP & AP Meal plans do not include Evening snacks & cold drinks / liquor, Soups or Deserts. We can arrange for the same at additional cost on prior information. For order on A-la-Carta basis, guests are requested to make direct payment for additional items.
  • For early morning check out breakfast may be limited to simple bread & butter / jam. Puri / roti - sabji may not be available.
  • Consumption and serving of alcohol in hotels / rooms is subject to hotel's rules and regulations. In some hotels, consumption of alcohol is not allowed.
  • The region's prime tourist interest in its Nature and eco-friendly atmosphere. The facilities available here cannot be matched with other developed destinations. Many accommodations will have basic facilities compared with other regions. Please inform tourists that this region can be enjoyed in its natural beauty and simple flavour.
  • Many regions do not have star category hotels. Similar category hotels with the best available room will be provided.
  • Kindly inform guests that same category rooms or identical rooms may not be available. We will try our best to maintain similarity.
  • For large groups, all rooms in one hotel may not be available. Moreover, if two or more hotels are selected, identical facilities may not be available even between rooms of the same tariff. The clients will have to adjust to these conditions. We will try our best to maintain similarity.
  • In most hotels mentioned above Extra Person Sharing the Room, Child With Extra Bed, will be provided MATTRESS / ROLL OVERS as per requirement.
  • In the region, scarcity of water & electricity is a natural phenomenon. Guests are requested to bear with such problems as may arise during the tour.
Vehicle operation & usage guide:

1.Vehicle Segment : 
  • Carriers in vehicles are not allowed in the region. 
  • No AC will be available in vehicles in Hill regions
  • Sumo is provided in budget/ standard car segment (4 - 6 pax)
  • Innova / Xylo are similar category 
  • Swift D'zire / Etios/ Amaze are similar category in small car segment (2-3 pax)
2. Vehicle will NOT be on disposal
  • The vehicle used will be exclusive for that group but will not be at disposal.
  • Vehicle will be available as per your itinerary. Kindly follow the time strictly
  • Sightseeing points covered will depend on remaining time in hand
  • Full day sightseeing will be till maximum 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm as per given itinerary. For additional usage, per km / per hour will be charged as per usage.
3.Hotels located in Hills - in Busy areas / City Centers / No Entry / One Way zones 
  • Most of the hotels do not have parking place & vehicle cannot be parked in front of the gates for longer period hence gusts should wait at the reception 5 minute before
    the departure to avoid the inconveniences.
  • Due to shortage in space for parking, please be informed that you will have to be ready on time & wait in the lobby. 
  • Due to uncalculated situations (traffic jams / traffic halts/ diversions etc.) the vehicle reporting may get delayed. We will request you to bear with us and as soon as vehicle arrives you will have to get in, before the policeman blow his whistle. 
  • Due to vehicle-parking difficulty, most of the areas are restricted to entry of vehicle & specific time is allotted for entries. Kindly follow the time strictly as given to you.
  • In No Parking Zones, the vehicle will get parked in an available parking area. In such a case, you will have to wait for the vehicle to come to your designated area. Please be patient as the driver will have to come through traffic. Please coordinate with the driver.
4. Transfers to next destination
  • Night travel is not possible, so if you have a transfer to another destination in second half, please maintain time of your morning sightseeing 
  • If one destination is covered twice or additional destinations are included, additional charges will be applicable on per km / per hour basis.
  • During Rainy season, heavy showers are possible and many times tarpaulin may not cover all the luggage because of the nature of heavy showers. In such case, luggage will have to be loaded inside the vehicle. The guests will have to adjust to such situations.
5.General Terms
  • The tour guide reserves the rights to make changes or omit any place of visit, if it becomes necessary due to bad weather, bad road, strike or band, security reason etc.
  • Kindly inform us if the guests are senior citizens or have health related issues (like arthritis, heart problems etc.) or any such matter which might need special arrangements. Some itineraries will not be suitable for them and we will suggest accordingly.
  • The security concerns, driver's working hours etc. will be kept in mind while planning the tour and sightseeing. 
  • We try to ensure that the sightseeing points do not fall on a closing day. Incase due to inevitable situation if the sightseeing falls on a closing day, it will have to be left out. Conducting that particular tour or sightseeing point the next day will be subject to time availability. 
  • Weather in the region is unpredictable. We have kept your sightseeing related with nature flexible.
  • The region's prime tourist interest in its Nature and eco-friendly atmosphere. The facilities available here cannot be matched with other developed destinations. 
  • Once the package is booked & confirmed no refund will be allowed. There will be no refund of any unutilized service in part or in full what so ever may be the reason.
